I’m putting the Housing Authority on notice; You can and should sue for damages from bedbugs

I understand many residents of Saratoga Housing Authority properties are angry, injured and confused.

Well do what Ed would do,

SUE THE BASTARDS

As a public service { I have not been compensated in way, shape or form} and since the housing authority has over 2 million in unreserved funds plus liability insurance and is governed by HUD a branch of the Federal government, I am laying out a step by step tutorial in how to sue and collect damages.

I recommend the “New York Bed Bug Lawyer" Marc Miner, Esq

The Attorney states that, victims of bed bugs can successfully bring claims as a result of being bitten. All it takes is a diligent attorney, who is not afraid to look under the mattress, to find what lies beneath.

Fascinating, John. It's not specifically mentioned, but sounds like an action can also be taken directly against INDIVIDUALS, such as the management of the Saratoga Housing Authority and it's board, and not just the board itself. Under that scenario, some resident of these apartments might end up owning Ed's spacious digs in Clifton Park.

Residents should go after the Authority, HUD, the City of Saratoga, AND all the individuals managing or directing the authority or the apartments, including any "security" staff working for the authority or it's service providers.

It's about time someone turned the tables on these bastards.

Very short statute of limitations to sue the government. Since no one can figure out if this entity is local, state or federal govt you should assume you need to file a notice of claim within 90 days to be safe. Preserve any evidence, take pictures. If This is HUD the proper defendant may be the United States of America and the case will be in Federal court. Because this is a violation of a statute you may be able to bring something called a section 1983 action in which you can get attorney fees and punitive damages against the individual defendants. I would call this attorney. You'll need someone experienced. John should email this man a link to the blog.

Usually I'm against lawsuits but John is right. Ed sued the City of Watervliet so he deserves nothing less

As some of you noticed I took the story down and reposted it.

Some of you reported the story had become corrupted and bled into a preceding story.
I hope its corrected

Now we just need someone to pass this info on to the residents who don't have the internet. If anyone knows someone in Stonequist, print this information or write it down and give it to them. Ed cannot evict you for suing. If he threatens it, notify the lawyer.

I'm all in to sue! I was disrespected by the door mouse when I entered the building. I also can't for the life of me figure why no one has caught on to the woman and her two babies that live there. Whose the father of the kids.

It will be printed and posted in stonequist

I was informed that the one to talk to lives on the 6th floor. She is highly intelligent and will even help pay for your lawyer if needed.

11:44 a.m. "I was informed that the one to talk to lives on the 6th floor. She is highly intelligent and will even help pay for your lawyer if needed." I seriousy HOPE you aren't talking about me, Teresa! I live month to month & can't pay for my OWN lawyer, let alone anyone else's! I am thinking, however, Class Action Suit. The day they extermintated, someone, be it Maintenance or the exterminators...took my 3 jars of bedbugs with them! I NEVER allowed anyone to take them. All I did was show them as proof I had them! Can that be considered theft??? THAT was part of my "discovery". Actually, I'm just tired from it all & trying hard to get back to some semblence of a normal life, going to my therapist and remain in my room, staying out of any further issues. I do, however want SOME type of compensation for the hundreds of dollars in eradication efforts, and cell phone calls...over $300 worth...to HUD, Attorney General (which would have been my course of action had David not come up with the census thing) etc etc. I owe a heck of a lot of money in cell phone bills from Nov to Jan.

So, a lady who doesn't speak to me won the election into the vacant resident seat on the Board of Directors here; I will not be represented then! She hasn't spoken to me since I went to City Counil Dec 7th!! March 14th I was part of an invitation only forum held in Stonequist, by 2 lovely young women from Cornell in Ithaca, quite knowledgeable in the field of Pest Management. I now hold a Certificate of Completion for "Integrated Pest Management in Multifamily Housing". One of the ladies said we can take the information we learned and help others in Saratoga; it was a HIGHLY informative speed-course in all types of critters, and we had visual effects AND actually went into 2 vacant apartments to look at places where any type of critter could be found, and also took a walk outdoors to look around the building and point out places where critters could easily enter...I have to say, though I was an "afterthought invitee" (EVERYONE in the city KNOWS I am not an "A-lister")...I am grateful I went; they had breakfast and lunch and it was an all day thing...but well worth it.
