In an explosive and carefully written story in today’s Times Unionwriter James Odato quotes that in a deposition given by local residentBarbara J. Bouchey of Asset Management, Inc. whichspecializes in financial planning, estate conservation and tax reduction strategies for affluent individuals, families and businesses. Bouchey testified that NXIVM founder Keith Raniere, who members call "Vanguard," and is regarded by supporters as an inspirational, empowering mentor, wanted to “Have his own country ,his own currency, our own way of doing things” and that is only one of the more outrageous claims laid bare in this expose.
NXIVM as any well informed reader of local blogs will tell you is a locally based cult that has many prominent followers. Led by Keith Raniere who is described in this article as a compulsive gambler on the commodities market who lost 1.7 million of Bouchey’s funds before turning to his zombie like followers the Seagram sisters Clair and Sara Bronfman’s who arenow said to have been tapped accordingto the TU for up to 100 MILLION dollars. Bouchey who was also described as one of Raniere’s many ex lovers had a falling out with her Guru, and had previously been in Raniere’s inner circle before breaking with the group last year over her lost funds.
The article goes on to describe in carefully worded detail a complicated California real estate deal that went south and is now the subject of multiple lawsuits involving Frank Parlato in a $26 million dispute with Yuri Plyam over a West Coast real estate deal gone bad. Parlato's claims that the heirs, Clare and Sara Bronfman, were cheated out of millions of dollars. The Plyams, in turn, claim Parlato drove the project into the ground. "They're blaming us for stealing millions when, in fact, they owe us $300,000," Natasha Plyam told The Buffalo News. "They also claim my husband confessed to Parlato, which is preposterous. That's a total fabrication." Plyam had been Raniere’s commodities trader who claims that Raniere has lost millions but had boasted that he was one of the world’s greatest mathematicians and had developed a perfect system for beating the commodities market. Instead the “worlds smartest man” lost “tens of million of dollars”.Plyam’s attorney Green Ford asserts that Raniere access to funds started to dry up and that he bailed on the west coast real estate deal. Raniere of course took no responsibility claiming that “negative forces” were out to get him. He was concerned that if news of him gambling away millions and millions of dollars became public knowledge, he would look like a fool and even his most devoted followers would question his competence. It is believed that in the end Vanguard [Raniere] has lost over 65 million dollars in bad commodities and real estate deals in the last few years. Not very good for the smartest man in the world.Plyam’s attorney presents a rather sympathetic portrait of the Seagram sisters, Clair and Sara Bronfman’s who he describes as “naïve rather unsophisticated girls completely under the control of Raniere.
So what does all of this have to do with Saratoga Spring you ask? Well I’ll tell you. The membership in NXIVM is almost a who’s who of local business people and politicians. Many have taken Vanguards week long ESP or executive training program courses which are taught locally They [Clair and Sara Bronfman] are well know contributors to local politicians both Republican and Democrat. They have long sought to build a new world headquarters in Saratoga which in all probability would apply for tax exempt status as an educational facility. As I reported here first and was condemned by Andrew Bernstein, {who I suspect has ties to the group} an LLC as cover for NXIVM is in negotiations to buy the Adelphi Hotel. The Bronfman’s who already own 27 local properties and have access to hundreds of millions of dollars want it badly. Just as they paid millions to drag the Dali Lama here they crave acceptance and respectability, something I will never give them. Local Politicians with strong ties to the group and their millions include all the usual suspects. Val Keehn, Ron Kim [I can just see him tooling around in the Bronfman’s jet} Eileen Finneran, Brucie Rosch and many other members of Democrats for Change. They also have a great propensity for lawsuits. Even with the fairness of the TU article I would not be surprised by a NXIVM lawsuit. The last time I wrote about NXIVM, I suddenly found myself a subject of anonymous death threats. In other words folks these are not nice people and all I can say is bring it on. Remember folks they are among us. Before you sign that contact, or pull the level for a Politician or bed that hot chick/guy you have a right to full disclosure.
Ask, are you an intelligent self assured and emotionally stable individual who believes in free will or are you an emotionally bankrupt sorry sack of shit who needs to cling to a self help Guru-compulsive gambler to give you any sense of worth? You have a right to know

All of the speculation about Vanguard's "ulterior motives" are just that: speculation. In reality, he just wants 2 things: more money to blow on his various "investment theories" and more slender young women with long hair to satisfy his sexual appetite.
How sick are the Bronfman sisters to blow $100 million so that they get different color scarves?
And how totally sick is Salzman to give Vanguard one of her daughters for his sick games?
Wonder is CPS will ever investigate the child that the cult purchased so that Vanguard could try out more of his pysch theories?
October 1, 2007 — A purported pyramid-scheme operator who was run out of Arkansas when Bill Clinton was governor has reinvented himself as the head of an upstate group accused of being a “cult” – and his devotees have pumped thousands into Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential run. Executives and top associates of the Albany-based NXIVM group – along with their family members – donated $29,900 to Clinton’s presidential campaign, according to federal records. On March 14 and April 13, records show, more than a dozen contributions poured into Clinton’s coffers from NXIVM, an executive and group-awareness training organization led by Brooklyn-born Keith Raniere, 47. In his previous incarnation, the Svengali-like Raniere ran a $30 million multilevel marketing business that imploded after federal agencies and regulators in 23 states alleged it was an illegal pyramid scheme. He has managed to attract famous names to NXIVM. Three of the March and April Clinton pledges came from Raniere’s most high-profile followers: Seagram heiresses Clare and Sara Bronfman, and Pamela Cafritz, daughter of D.C. A-listers Buffy and Bill Cafritz. Cafritz shares a condo with Raniere. The Bronfman sisters are also deeply involved with NXIVM and, according to a 2003 article in Forbes magazine, have loaned millions to the group and provided use of their jet.Their father, Edgar Bronfman Sr., once took NXIVM classes but soon severed ties, telling Forbes, “It’s a cult.” The Clinton campaign downplayed the significance of the NXIVM-related contributions. “Over 100,000 people from across the country have contributed to Sen. Clinton’s campaign for change, and regardless of who supports her, she will always continue to stand up for what she feels is right,” said campaign spokesman Blake Zeff. Hillary isn’t the only Clinton NXIVM officials are attracted to. At least three of them – group President Nancy Salzman and the Bronfman sisters – are members of Bill’s charitable organization, the Clinton Global Initiative. Membership is by invitation only and requires at least a $15,000 donation per person for one year. NXIVM spokesman Frank Roberts told The Post the organization doesn’t have a presidential candidate it is officially backing. Last month, the Albany Times Union reported that NXIVM associates gave $31,600 to the state Republican Senate Campaign Committee and provided $34,763 worth of air transportation. The recent campaign contributions led one close observer of NXIVM to speculate that the group is trying to curry favor for its effort to expand training centers upstate. In the 1990s, several states investigated the Raniere-run Consumer Buyline Inc., a marketing firm in which members were paid commissions for recruiting new members. A 1992 Arkansas lawsuit filed by Bill Clinton’s then-attorney general, Winston Bryant, charged Raniere, Cafritz and two others with fraud and business deception. Soon after, then-New York AG Robert Abrams sued CBI, branding it “illegal.” Raniere didn’t admit wrongdoing, but agreed to pay hefty fines in both states. After closing the Albany-based CBI, he became involved in a health-food and vitamin venture that led him to Salzman. Sharing a passion for motivational training, the pair launched NXIVM.
At NXIVM – according to court papers, cult watchdogs and relatives of members – Raniere has defrauded devotees, shattered families and drove at least one person to suicide. After four months attending NXIVM’s expensive, “intensive” studies, Alaska resident Kristin Marie Snyder grew angry, depressed and irrational. In winter 2003, she disappeared. Her family believes she drowned herself. Her body was not recovered. Snyder was last seen leaving a NXIVM course, and police released a note she left behind. “I was brainwashed and my emotional center of the brain was killed/turned off,” Snyder scrawled in a spiral notebook.
Except for the comments concerning the adelphi, the new blog spot is 100% on point. NXIVM was never involved in trying to purchase the hotel. Instead, it was an investment group headed up by Barbara Bouchey, who left Raniere's group almost a year ago. Not sure whether that group is still trying to go forward but it looks like NXIVM may have been leaking mis-information about the project to punish Bouchey for turning her back on them. It's always been Ranier's pattern to punish anyone who leaves his group by destroying their reputations and their businesses. Wonder why no govt agency has ever investigated Ranier and his cult. Maybe he's been able to use other Bronfman money to buy off those who should be doing that (like our local choir boy, JM)?
Be VERY careful. There are over 100 of these zombies walking around Saratoga.
Look up the past Metroland stories on the cult for a well written background. Plus the Rick Ross Institute for Cult Studies has a whole section devoted to nxivm.
Notice the similarities between Nxivm and their local political front the Democrats for Change when it come to silencing critics and enemies:
For example, ask the various newspaper reporters and bloggers in both Saratoga and Albany who have written negative stories about either group in the past. Then hear their tales of threats, lawsuits, hush money, anonymous calls to various authorities, phone harassment, notes left on one's door, hacked bank acocunt records, and on and on it goes.
You can't make this stuff up. It would be worthy of a laugh if it weren't for the suicides, wrecked marriages and lost fortunes.
Will the City Council please call an emergency session, please? The city of Saratoga is infested with this cult. We need an army of exterminators to rid ourselves of this darkness.
Thank you I hope you are right. Bouchey seems to have learned her lesson and it is possible that a deliberate misinformation campaign has taken place. Ms Bouchey is free to contact this blog at the e-mail address in my profile to give her unedited side of the story.
I hear Scirocco’s wife got talked into going on a 5 day retreat but after two days she took off because she couldn’t take the diet of dried fruit and granola.
Lomdardo from the Saratogian might have gotten comped for some ESP programs. The bitch has never written a word about NXIVM and never will except to defend them.
"The course was incredibly valuable and a life-enriching experience. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who is interested in enhancing their personal growth." Steve Sullivan CEO, Olde Bryan Inn & Longfellow's Restaurant/Hotel
"Phenomenal! A lifetime of major issues crystallized and dealt with in laser-like fashion. The program spearheaded me into action, unparalleled to anything I've ever experienced before. Run, don't walk, just do it!" Sandy Padilla CEO, America Works
"I soon discovered that the course was very thought provoking and intellectually stimulating. It proved to be a weekend of engaging conversation and learning. Those who do not enjoy stimulation of the mind and the company of challenging instructors need not apply. I believe the purpose of this program is to introduce new concepts and skills in human potential. Concepts learned which will improve my skills and choices. This program is a new and wonderful way for me to expand my perception of people and to develop skills that will enhance my quality of life. Others have and will feel the same way. I look forward to taking more of your programs." Anthony Ianniello Ianniello, Anderson & Reilly, P.C.
Ms. Salzman allocates the majority of her time to further developing the company's capacity to meet its ever-growing needs. Because of her strong belief in developing each individual, she personally works with over 300 Coaches
Now i know why the food at the Olde Bryan Inn sucks.Seems other restaurant were sending negative energy to Steve Sullivan cranial lobe. And dumb me I just thought the cook was incompetent.Who new?
The hits keep on coming! Beware of this Nxivm front:
JNESS: a women-empowerment and enlightenment type of group. It follows the same cult formula as the nxivm/ESP/Raniere sponors and advisors .
Locally, it has various sub group meetups, titled as Moms Group, Introspective Friendships, Designing Women Freindship, New Friends and Cooking Friendship.
They all meet on a regualr basis in the Albany and Saratoga area. So if you get invited to groups named as above, RUN!
Likewise, some of the individuals that set these traps:
I know what you mean about the danger of cults. For years now I have been getting material in the mail from one of them looking to suck me in. They talk a good game about how they want to help the poor and save the planet. They even have a charismatic leader that they adore and follow blindly. I was almost sucked in until I realized that they were just after my money and control of my life. No way I will join up with a bunch of mindless robots . No thanks Democratic Party
I used to work for Raniere at Consumer's Buyline. This guy is a freak. I have so many stories about him to tell. I was placed in a position in the company that allowed me great access to this svengali like figure.
Please give us more details about "the world's smartest man", who also claims he was the New York Stae champion in the 100 yard dash while he was in high school, thereby makeing him the first-ever 5'8" white guy to acieve that feat (I'm thinkin' 3" inch penis on his good days).
JT- Certainly you're not taking any of these threats seriously. This community is a fine place... but our cyber-cowards are the biggest Blowhards on God's Green Earth. The one-on-one back-and-forth pissing matches that clog every posting is their idea of a bar brawl... in truth it's their petty playtime of patty cake.
Of course they can always ram your car in their dreams. But most of them are afraid of our wicked winter road conditions.
Your post topics get better every day, your sources are delivering the goods to a Good Man with a voice, an audience, and a great sense of humor.
I don't care if she is one of those brain dead NXIVM bitch's I'll be happy to do her. Pick up line of the week Didn't we meet at the a cappella festival.
Don't trash those who have seen the light and are trying to make things right. Taking these a'holes down requires courage that you'll never understand.
NXIVM brags about being 'scientific,' yet Raniere, Salzman and a few other upper-level cronies believe themselves to be fulfilling some sort of karmic spiritual destiny, involving their own past lives which are somehow tied to the Holocaust.
That's just for starters. It gets MUCH weirder.
Grab yer popcorns, this TU article is just the first tremor, NXIVM is about to get shaken to it's scummy, deceptive core.
Look I publish comments that aren't threats or to far off the wall.I have much more respect for Barbara J. Bouchey today than I did last week. I have no way of knowing who made the comment. It is what it is.I have sent a personal e-mail to Bouchey to give her a chance to write anything she wantson this blog unedited and sarcasm free.
You people don’t know what you’re talking about. Keith Raniere • He spoke in full sentences by the age of one was reading by the age of two • At the age of eleven, he was an Eastern Coast Judo Champion. • At age 12, he taught himself high school mathematics in less than a day and taught himself three years of college mathematics by age 13. • He plays many musical instruments and taught himself to play piano at a concert level by age 12 • He was entered in the Guinness Book of World Records for “Highest IQ” in 1989. • He has been noted as one of top three problem-solvers in the world • He was a millionaire by the age of 30 and worth $50 million by the age of 32
Bouchey is just pissed Keith grew tired of her games and kicked her out of bed.
This is only the beginning of this organization. The Bronfman sisters and Michele Riggi have enough money to keep this going forever. I thought that the meetings in the Riggi estate were against the zoning rules? But, there is one law for them and one for the common people.
To 11:02 PM - Do you realize how naive you sound. Look this shit up before you extol more of this self-created mumbo-jumbo about your "Vanguard" and his "Perfect". Just ask Marilyn (Vos Savant) who has had the highest IQ since 1986. And as far as "games", Mr. Raniere is the master game player - and nothing more.
In 1952 L. Ron Hubbard (is that his real name?) started his “Church” of Scientology which was an outgrowth of his “System” of Dianetics. His self-help money making scam was reinvented by the self-named Werner Erhard whose other aliases were John Paul Rosenberg, Jack Frost, Werner Spits, Curt Wilhelm VonSavage. In 1991, Landmark Education Corporation purchased the Forum from Werner Erhard (alias Curt Wilhelm VonSavage) and Associates to reinvent Dianetics to a new generation of soul and life searching individuals with a new psychotherapy cult. They long since dropped the “Church” aspect to become a more universally palatable educational “Forum”.
The Landmark Forum program takes place over the course of a Friday, Saturday, Sunday and a Tuesday Evening. One is generally invited to “join” through a shepherd associated with the Forum or through other means like attending another’s graduation where they are surrounded by more serious handlers who work them into submission. Hours are from 9am to 10pm each of the first three days, and three hours of the evening on the final night. People are housed in a motel (so they can’t escape) and eat together. It resembles a prison stay. About 150 people pay $450 to take part in each course. Rules are set up at the beginning of the program, such as strongly encouraging participants not to miss any part of the program. Attendees are also urged to be “coachable” and not just be observers during the course. The program is arranged as a discussion where the course leader presents certain ideas and the course participants engage in voluntary sharing with the course leader to discuss how those ideas apply to their own life. The course leaders then make sure that people in groups are disassociated from others in their previous groupings and everyone gets to witness select “professional attendee (insiders) who begin to “see the light” and get this “religion”.
Ideas presented, asserted and discussed include the following: There is a big difference between what actually happened in a person’s life and the meaning or interpretation they made up about it People pursue an imaginary someday of satisfaction Human behavior is governed by a need to look good People create their own meaning to life – none is inherent in the world People have “rackets”, which are “being right about” or giving excuses for one’s own actions People can “transform” by simply declaring a new way of being instead of trying to change themselves in comparison to the past Course participants are encouraged to call people they know during the course who they are upset with and either forgive the other person or apologize for their own behavior. It is a controlled Forum with handlers who walk the rooms over the three days emotionally “experiencing” nirvana with several eureka moments hoping to involve the unsuspecting and now sleep deprived attendees into believing that “something” is happening. Grown adults are prevented from going to the bathroom. The Tuesday evening involves a sales presentation at which course attendees bring other people supposedly; to attend graduation ceremonies but it is really to sign up new victims for The Landmark Forum.
Remember that the participants are not stupid people – they are led through the process by charlatans some with psychiatric and counseling credentials and other simply skillful pitchmen encouraging them to find inner peace and success. Now Keith Raniere who we understand is “Vanguard” has duped his followers into believing that they are part of something so rewarding that they blindly participate in financial investments and program advancements with “degrees”.
David Hannum (not PT Barnum) said it best, “there’s a sucker born every minute”.
Poor 11:02 pm. This is really sad. He may or may not be an intelligent man but he is definitely a dishonest con-artest, creating a pyramid scheme that somehow combines the Madoff/messiah/Kool-aid drinking theories of sucking victims into a scheme by making the victims feel "chosen" and special. He is stealing money from these people. More importantly and relevant here he is trying to take over the government of Saratoga through the progressive wing of the Democratic Party.
This cult has been active in Saratoga for more than 10 years now. I used to have a small group of fun, successful and smart girlfriends. That is, until they tried to get me to go to an Executive Success meeting. (these are prominent women in town that are often in the papers you all would be shocked!)
I don't do organized religion or cults - not my thing. So I refused. In time (probably around 3 months) we grew farther and farther apart. They continued to look down on me while they were being spiritually "enlightened." Finally, one day I saw people walking around with matching bandanas, when i asked what they were for, the response was that they were showing unity in honor the Executive success program.
I sadly but eagerly ended my relationships. I can't be friends with anyone who allows themselves to be manipulated like that.
This group is dangerous and hurtful. For every Keith Ranier, there are a thousand of would be followers looking for someone to tell them there is meaning in life and they are worthy.
this is something the rest of us don't have to pay to realize.
7:30 AM - Don’t forget the testimonials at the mind-altering 3-day Landmark Forum sessions. In every case, people described their pre-program life to their amazing rebirth as if they had been through psychotherapy yet the only psychologists, psychotherapists, or psychiatrists associated with this large group psychotherapy were the shepherds who steered their so-called “screened” clients into the mind-altering weekend.
Like Anon 11:46, who just wrote about her friends drifting away, these “improvement” programs create new social networks because of their participation thus surrounding themselves with feel-good zombies who parrot the same euphoric emotions. Some people take the Forum more than once as a tune-up and others like the Professional Improvement Program ascend to higher (more expensive) levels to obtain a higher level of growth. One second–timer exclaimed “My whole family, brothers, sisters, wife and children have gone through the program", Oh, how sad.
I wonder if he "dated" Val Keehn? On one hand, that type of relationship seems to be a required element for anyone with such a prominent position under (pun) Keith. But on the other hand, she does not exactly fit the stereotype of 'hot nxivm babe' does she?
Maybe her ex would be the best source of this answer?
As for the other walking zombies in Saratoga, I too have encounterd about a dozen women in the city, where once I got to know them the little code words would pop up. Sure enough, they were in.
When I was eventually pressed to get involvd (lured by the usual bait of T&A, naturally), I declined. The phone calls and emails stopped being answered soon after.
The previous poster stated it well. If these needy nuts want to throw their money, vaginas and emotional makeup to the new Jim Jones, fine, let them. Just don't be surprised when a Jonestown-like apocalypse occurs in town.
But when they march as soldiers for the freak-boy and infiltrate one of the political parties as a means of taking over Saratoga, well then it is time to do something about this scourge.
I bang nxivm babes after Vanguard tosses them

What are the chances that Kyle is a member? He sure talks carzy enough to be one of their supreme leaders, or whatever the fuck they call the top banananas.
Can you imagine what it must be like to attend a cult workshop with Valerie Keehn as the coach? Just think back to the coucil meetings: it was the like fingernails on a chalk board!
An Open Memo to ALL MEMBERS of the Saratoga Democratic Committtee:
WILL ANY ONE OF YOU WHO IS NOT A NXIVM CULT MEMEBR PLEASE RISE AT THE NEXT MEETING AND ASK THAT ANYONE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CULT PLEASE IDENTIFY THEMSELVES?
Most will not, of course. But we can at least then go about exposing the lies. And your courage will ne noted.
Rumors of a large NXIVM convention taking place in the Saratoga sometime this year are spreading. Now won't they be disappointed that their plan of having either Val or Ron on the ticket for the Assembly race will not be the case?
The orphaned child was apparently given over to the care of Raniere, and the various women he lives with at 3 Flintlock Lane in Clifton Park, after a cash payment was made to the child's grandparents. Since then, the child has been reared by several different "nannies", each of which speaks a different language. This is all part of an experiment that Raniere dreamt up to see if the child would be multilingual by age 5 or so. Talk about mental abuse!
Anyone who posts anything on any of the NXIVM related blogs should be on the lookout for Steve Rambam aka Steve Rombom aka Rambo. For a picture and background info on this guy, go to:http://steverombom.org/. He's apparently been hired to intimidate anyone who speaks out against the cult. Very f***ing scary!

"Phenomenal! A lifetime of major issues crystallized and dealt with in laser-like fashion. The program spearheaded me into action, unparalleled to anything I've ever experienced before. Run, don't walk, just do it!"
Sandy Padilla
CEO, America Works
"I soon discovered that the course was very thought provoking and intellectually stimulating. It proved to be a weekend of engaging conversation and learning. Those who do not enjoy stimulation of the mind and the company of challenging instructors need not apply. I believe the purpose of this program is to introduce new concepts and skills in human potential. Concepts learned which will improve my skills and choices. This program is a new and wonderful way for me to expand my perception of people and to develop skills that will enhance my quality of life. Others have and will feel the same way. I look forward to taking more of your programs."

One of those coaches is VAL KEEHN
Esther Chiappone
Jenn DeWeese
Pamela Cafritz
Karen Abney
Tracy Christopher
Revilla Flirtz
Just another way to con feeble minded, lonely bored housewives out of their Husbands\ divorce settlement money.
And let's add Margo Beck to the list of devotees.
You're doing a great job. Good luck trying to save this city from this freak cult but be careful and safe. We don't want anything to happen to you.
Please give us more details about "the world's smartest man", who also claims he was the New York Stae champion in the 100 yard dash while he was in high school, thereby makeing him the first-ever 5'8" white guy to acieve that feat (I'm thinkin' 3" inch penis on his good days).
This blog as gone Viral, 2500 hits today from all over the country twice as many as I've ever received in one day and its still just a little past 6

ANYONE WHO WOULD GIVE ONE DIME TO THESE CLOWN'S TO INVEST IS OUT OF THEIR MIND
Don't trash those who have seen the light and are trying to make things right. Taking these a'holes down requires courage that you'll never understand.
That was not nice girls ...the real party is at 3 Flintlock Lane Clifton Park NY 14535 518-371-4275
When the truth comes out and it will..everyone will understand what it took 2 truly be the one....silence it's here
WTF...You publish the address of a person that has exposed the cult???? How can you be so stupid. Are you anoth one of Ranier's beyatches??
The Times Union article was great. I’ve been reading the Saratogian for so long I’d forgotten what real newspapers do.
Keith Raniere
• He spoke in full sentences by the age of one was reading by the age of two
• At the age of eleven, he was an Eastern Coast Judo Champion.
• At age 12, he taught himself high school mathematics in less than a day and taught himself three years of college mathematics by age 13.
• He plays many musical instruments and taught himself to play piano at a concert level by age 12
• He was entered in the Guinness Book of World Records for “Highest IQ” in 1989.
• He has been noted as one of top three problem-solvers in the world
• He was a millionaire by the age of 30 and worth $50 million by the age of 32
Bouchey is just pissed Keith grew tired of her games and kicked her out of bed.
Don’t ask me I’m so fucking dumb I thought NXIVM was a medication for acid reflux.
Earth to Spacelings:
Ideas presented, asserted and discussed include the following:
There is a big difference between what actually happened in a person’s life and the meaning or interpretation they made up about it
People pursue an imaginary someday of satisfaction
Human behavior is governed by a need to look good
People create their own meaning to life – none is inherent in the world
People have “rackets”, which are “being right about” or giving excuses for one’s own actions
People can “transform” by simply declaring a new way of being instead of trying to change themselves in comparison to the past
Course participants are encouraged to call people they know during the course who they are upset with and either forgive the other person or apologize for their own behavior.
The Times Union has now put the story on line.

Wonder why NXIVM covers up the fact that its Blessed Virgin figure, Nancy Salzman, was previously married to James Pike.
I'm interested in the first comment about a purchased child... any more information about this?
